The Loved Ones at Park Ave CDs
Ashley and Brandy here.
Today we ventured to the EAST SIDE of Orlando. We were there to check out The Loved Ones for their show/signing at Park Ave CD's inside the UCF student union. After taking pics of all of 23 people that could fit inside the store turned sauna (hey guys-- ever hear of AIR CONDITIONING? It's freakin 92 degrees outside!) we decided to check out what else was going on around the union. Who could predict what a plethora of activities would lay ahead of us!
First we met some lonely guys holding hot pink stuffed salamanders and signs warning of bathtubs about to overflow. We stopped to inquire of the meaning of such a threat-- was it a sign of the Apocalypse? Not quite, they were promoting their indie film "Bathtub of Love" which is to be released in the coming weeks.
Next we met some lovely ladies who informed us about the genocide currently going on in Sudan. Not as warm and fuzzy as the pink salamander but an important lesson none-the-less. Brandy was given a scrumptious chocolate-chip brownie to munch on while they briefed us on their upcoming hunger fast to take place Wednesday March 1st at UCF. Brownies and Sudanese genocide- mmmm, what a delicious combination. But seriously folks, you can check out their cause at www.projectdarfur.com.
In conclusion, we give The Loved Ones 1 thumb up for attempting to have a concert in a store the size of a cardboard box, Bathtub of Love a tentative 1.3 thumbs up for creative advertising and cinematic potential and Sudanese Genocide a big fat 2 thumbs down.
And that, Ladies and Gentlemen, is all she wrote.
