You and the Cap'n Makin it Happen

Amelia and I attended a lil party called the Parched Pirates Pubcrawl on Saturday. It was a bootyful time and arrrrrrrrrrr friends had some hot pirate costumes. Piratese out of your system? Mine too, moving on. The OPC crew was hospitable as always, and sold out the four bar crawl which included Cleo's, Zinc, a Wall St. party, and Big Belly Brewery.

According to our sources, the drinks were strong, the bars were packed, the crowd was fun, and there was plenty o' booty to go around. The crawl included a dueling challenge with our very own pirate hero, Captain Morgan. He was flashed more than the Shock Squad by almost every crawler at the bar. Not to say that the crowd didn't enjoy seeing the OCB girls out in full pirate attire (I even got a head start on next month's 80's pub crawl), but the Captain truly did have the most pirate spirit. Several Jack Sparrows did give him a run for his money- check out the pictures to pick your favorite.

If you can't wait to crawl again on the high seas, go to www.myspace.com/orlandopubcrawl to get information on the Pub Crawl cruise!!! Four days, multiple crawls, Mexico. Nuff said. If you miss your Shock Squad OH SO MUCH and can't wait until then to get flashed,  there's some mischief and mayhem going down Saturday at ROCK FOR A CURE at the Social for sure. It's a good cause with great bands, so come support. We're also on the radio Thursday nights with Mel Taylor of O-Rock for Mel's Bad Girl's Club. Tune in to O-Rock 1059 @ 9pm to hear where your OCB bad girls will be next. XOXO- Dina

--- A "Killer" Time at the Peacock Room ---

Between the metal, flashing lights and smoked filled rooms, Melanie and I found ourselves enjoying the sights and sounds at the Peacock Room. Located on

S. Mill Street, The Peacock Room, is super trendy and attracts the "artsy" crowd.  The walls are art filled, the bar is known for their extensive martini list and the local acts killer make this place one to check out.

The Shock Squad picked a killer night to check out the Peacock Room as we checked out one of our favorite bands, The Killer Robots.  The Killer Robots packed the room as they put on an awesome show full of costumes, stage effects and some of the best electro-pop sounds O-Town has to offer.

Be sure to check out the footage and photos from the show by clicking on O-Lens. Also, if the killer sounds of The Killer Robots is something you maybe interested in, check out the music section on the Orlando City Beat website to see where they and other local favorites are playing next.  And finally, do not forget to grab your eye patch and hook as and check out your favorite Shock Squaders this weekend, downtown, at the Pirates Pub Crawl.  Until next time Orlando!  --- AMANDA ---

Closed Call...a fairytale story for the Shock Squad

Once upon a time, there were two promo princesses (and a camera jester) who really, really liked to go drinking in a not so very far away land called Downtownia. They lived there, worked there, played there, and wrote blogs about what it was like to be there. They recorded their excursions with high tech devices (hence, camera guy), and then shared it with the rest of their fair land.

Well, one dreary night, an evil ogre with Internet access and a list said NO! You must go elsewhere!!! And so the trio ventured off to the interesting, artsy, fun neighborhood of Winter Park. Unfortunately, the list was wrong, the Web site outdated, and the princesses said ^%#@&^ that evil ogre! We're going to back to Downtownia, kidnapped the camera jester, and hit the street. Wall St., that is.

The princesses, who will go by the names of Aina* and Damelia* in this case, wandered around, bar hopped, picture took, and interviewed all for the good of drunken kind. It was packed, it was fun, people were drunk, and FYI, Wall St. is always a great weekend first, second, third, or any other backup or primary choice. One of the princesses was proposed to, and in these girls happily ever after, declined and kicked Prince Not So Charming** in the arse, said "Don't be dumb drunky!!!"  instead choosing to paint the town red, party like a rock star, and forget most of it by morning. And they all lived happily ever after. THE END.

*Names may have been changed, altered, or not to protect absolutely no one. You know who it was.

**The drunk guys were really, really nice, but for story's sake, not so charming.

Moto Loco Night

The thunderous sounds of motorcycles roared through the parking lot as hundreds of bikers swept in for bike night  on Wenesday. It was my dream come true. Suzuki, Honda, and even Harley Davidsons filled this lot in the corner of Goldenrod and University. A girl loves a man on a bike and there were two of us...girls that is. Dina and I, Natasha. We can certainly say that a man on a bike is hot. But to some it is not just about the men (the men might actually say that), its about the bike.

From the brand to the motor and all the way through to what color it is is what a true biker thinks about and don't think that men are the only riders, there were some girls that had their own bad ass rides. You go girls! Shots out to Moto Loco for putting this bike night together every Wenesday night. With their own dj. It was one big party. One day I will be attending bike night on my own ride, but until then take a look at the video and the pics so you can see how much fun it was. Take a look at where we will be next week so you can be on orlandocitybeat.com.

Love you Orlando,

Natasha
