Big Jef Special

Dishing out a big fat juicy dose of the most honky-tonkin’, swanky tunes was the Big Jef Special at The Social.  Having done residencies at The Copper Rocket and Uncle Lou’s lounge over the last few years, as well as opening for other southern treats such as Southern Culture on the Skids and Devin Allman, these ‘fellers have gained quite the eclectic local following.

There were moments where a couple shuffled & double two-stepped for a song, an avid fan skanked (no, it’s not just for ska shows) around the floor by himself, a female fan who was obsessed w/ blowing smoke bubbles (that would strategically burst right in front of each band member), but the best moments came from lots of flair in each band member’s performance and musicianship.

In a conglomeration of songs that stirred up Bluegrass, Country Western, Americana, Folk and Swing - Jef sang about various things that almost many can relate to like 420 and ex-wives…and no matter where you looked around the venue, everyone was swillin’ and smilin’ without a care in the world.
