What's in a name?
It appears that The Club at Firestone in downtown Orlando was too much of a tongue twister for most, so the venue decided to shorten it to Club Firestone.
Yeah, it's a big news day.
However, looking through some real estate mag yesterday I saw a building for sale at Pine also in downtown, that looked a lot like the building that houses AKA, Matador and Pine Street Bar & Grille. Feeling eerily similar to the Nancy Grace of bars lately, I called Matador and got voicemail. However, the waitress at Pine Street was quick to say they had 11 more years on their lease but wasn't aware of whether the building was for sale or not. I'll keep looking into it, it would be a shame to lose any of those bars. Especially Matador, bringing a bit of luck to a spot that didn't do so well in the past.
It's Friday and I'm almost out of here. Where am I going? To get a drink of course. Tonight the lucky place to experience the joy of my presence in their establishment is Orlando Brewing at 1301 Atlantic Ave. in Orlando.
It's a pain to get back in there and the beer is slightly more than I would like to pay for a local brew, but because of it being local I try to support as much as possible. In fact, Orlando Brewing is Florida's only certified organic brewery. See its not all booze and bullshit in this blog, you actually learn something from time to time too. Have a good weekend folks!
