Orlando Improv closes

According to Bob Joyce, general manager of the Tampa Improv, the Orlando Improv is closed effective immediately. Both comedy stores are under the same ownership and Joyce has been in Orlando trying to help with some of the problems the Orlando location has been having with now landlord of Church Street Station Cameron Kuhn. Joyce says they are seeking a lawsuit against Kuhn for breaches in contract, one of them being not renewing the club's liquor license. He wouldn't comment any further but to say an official press release will be sent out on Monday and the Orlando Improv is actively seeking a new location.

Wow, this is a loss to our area. I LOVE the Orlando Improv. It's sad that this cluster has taken down such a wonderful downtown Orlando venue. I hope you guys find a new venue soon!

Funny how the best media coverage only came when the club closed.... Maybe now the local media will appreciate a company that brings in real talent and celebs.. Look at all the missed interviews.. Bob Saget, Colin Quinn, Tracy Morgan, Tommy Davidson, Louis Anderson, Tommy Chong, Kevin Pollack, Dave Atell, Chris Tucker..., Careers are made in publishing from interviews like these... Where were you Orlando Media??????

Maybe when the Improv finds a new location, someone in the office will find time to return phonecalls. That might help.

A steakhouose to take Orlando Improv's place? How many steakhouses do we really need in Orlando? This venue has not only good shows, but i knew a couple of the people on the staff. These people had worked there for many years and were a tightnit group of friends, even family. I see the post before was made by a previous employee and would hope they all find another home together.



The Orlando Improv was one of the only decent venues to go to left on Church Street. To see Church Street beccome what it has over the past years, it's a shame to see the one stronghold be forced away. Cameron Coone has made a grave mistake. I cannot wait to take my business wherever the new Improv in Orlando relocates.
