Sooo Over It
Okay, not really, but I was trying to punny and when the name of the band whose cd release party you attend is "Over It" there are only so many directions in which you can go! So you know the what, now let's get down to the rest of the details. Monday night, 9/11, has a newer, happier reason to be remembered, it was the day that I first laid eyes upon some of the most glorious musicians I will ever lay eyes upon (Love the overdramatic description? I'm just full of them) Before Over It took the stage at 23 (Yes, they fit a stage in 23, rather cozy) there were two other bands to open for them. The first one, I can't remember their name...I am sure that I knew it at one time, but opening the night with "Randy, I f*cked your girlfriend" kind of makes people forget everything else. The 2nd band, National Product, now there is something I can remember! Also because Laurel, Jared, Erin and I chatted up the guitarist, Jeff, before the show and he was ha-larious. Both of the opening bands made me glad that I'm not deaf, but the real treat (who says treat?!) was Over It. I was not expecting an emo-type band from Chris Kirkpatrick(I'm not sure how he fits in exactly, I just know it's his project somehow) but I was very pleased when I saw that the lead singer was the most emo looking person of life. (That's a compliment, ps) There was a great turnout, and I'm sure I won't be the only one who was there to be on the lookout for all of the bands cds in the future!
